The Rhythm of Winter

You'll be familiar with the assessment of winter; the coldest and darkest time of year. A period when we have the least amount of energy. It's often characterised by over indulgence and excess. But, as ever I'm going to offer an alternative (more up beat) narrative.

The true, natural rhythm of winter is possibility. It embodies the seed, the embryo and is a place of potential. A time of long nights and little light, winter embodies the promise of the future.

When life appears to have ceased, it is in fact growing decisively under the ground, waiting to burst forth.

Like a hibernating polar bear; our energies might be limited because the season has little sun, but we're retreating to ultimately regenerate.
